I found this old wedding dress in a charity shop and I loved this silk fabric! From my previous designs I knew I wanted to use tulle for the top of the dress so I cut the top of the dress off and pinned tulle onto the mannequin. I haven't decided yet what wildflower this dress will be inspired by, but I loved the idea of flowers stuck onto the top of the dress so I experimented with fake flowers from the car boot sale. I also cut and sewed the skirt to fit my models measurements. In my final design I think I will use these elements somehow but perhaps make the tulle thicker with more layers for modesty purposes! When I decide what flower to be inspired by this will influence the decoration, embellishment, colours and material - but for now I like this style and got some really positive comments on my Instagram for this toile. <3
